Fall is here, and we all know what that means… Football! Sunday is game day, with so much good food and a great game to watch. Nothing gets better than that. Well, almost nothing. This football season, take things up a notch by celebrating game day on the grill.
Fire Up Some Finger Foods
Other than football, the best part about game day is hands down the food, family, and friends. Whether you’re cooking up all the food yourself or having a potluck-style party, you just can’t go wrong with finger foods. They’re easy to eat, everyone can get a little bit of everything, and you can just snack throughout the game instead of eating all at once.
You may not have thought about it before, but the grill is the perfect way to fire up some finger foods. Sure, you could just stop by the grocery store and pick up some fried chicken ready to go. But what’s the fun in that? Instead, you can cook your own chicken tenders wrapped in bacon or bone-in wings right on your grill.
Smells Like Team Spirit
You can’t have game day without team spirit! Now, we like to get a little cheesy up here in Wisconsin, and this definitely applies to our game-day food, too. And I’m not talking about mac and cheese (even though that’s a great game-day option).
I’m talking about smoking up a PACKER brisket on game day in honor of the Green Bay Packers. Yes, it’s a cheesy play on words, but it’s such a fun way to celebrate! And if you have some guests who still just want to enjoy finger foods with the game, you can turn your PACKER brisket into BBQ pork sliders.
Still not enough team spirit for you? Try cooking up some cupcakes or donuts on your grill and decorating them with green and yellow icing. You may end up with a green tongue, but hey, it’s worth it, right?
Don’t Slack on Dessert
After eating all of those yummy, salty foods during the game, you’re going to want something sweet. Sure, we already suggested cooking cupcakes and donuts, but what about something for all of those chocolate lovers out there? You can cook brownies on your grill. Yep, that’s right, brownies on your grill!
If you thought it couldn’t get better than brownies fresh out of the oven, you haven’t tried brownies on a Memphis Grill®. With just a few simple ingredients, you’ll be able to whip up some of the best brownies you’ve ever tasted. Get the batter together while you’re grilling up everything else, then throw whatever batter you haven’t eaten yet on the grill to bake. In just about 30 minutes, you’ll be ready to enjoy some nice, warm, decadent brownies.
