Boost Health and Wellness in 2023 with a Sauna

2023 will be here before you know it! And with every new year come New Year’s Resolutions. One of the most popular resolutions is to be healthier in the upcoming year. One of the best ways to boost your health and wellness in 2023 is with a new sauna from The Pool People! Here are eight ways a sauna can help you be a healthier you in the new year, and for years to come.

1. Sweat it Out

If you are sitting in a small room reaching temperatures between 150° and 195° Fahrenheit, it is a sure-fire guarantee, you are going to sweat. And that means you’re going to sweat out all of those impurities clogging your pores, like dirt and oil.

2. Skin Health

Did you know that sweating also leads to better skin health? If you would like softer, smoother skin, you should give a sauna a try! Saunas can help reduce wrinkles and treat photo-aged skin. Who wouldn’t want that?

3. Heart Health

Various studies have shown that cardiovascular system and heart health and has increased with sauna users. In fact, the National Library of Medicine (NLM) says patients with coronary risk factors who frequently use thermal therapy have seen improved vascular endothelial function.

4. Physical Fitness

One way a sauna can improve your health is by increasing your exercise tolerance. For people with heart failure and coronary artery disease, this is extra important! By reducing blood pressure, it can help treat or prevent hypertension as well.

5. Improved Range of Motion

Another physical health benefit saunas offer is an improved range of motion. Saunas help warm up your muscles, so if you use a sauna before your workout or even just to start your day, it makes stretching easier. Your tight, sore muscles will thank you!

5. Inflammation Reduction

Saunas have been shown to reduce inflammation, due partly to the effect exposure to such heat has on the blood inflammation marker, C-reactive protein, also known as CRP. Saunas have been shown to reduce the levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, as well.

6. Pain Alleviation

On a connected note, as anyone who takes acetaminophen or ibuprofen can tell you, when there is less inflammation in the body, there is less pain. So by reducing inflammation in your body, you’re likely to relieve pain from inflammation as well, especially in your joints. Plus, saunas produce a relaxing effect on the body, which also helps alleviate pain.

7. Lower Risk of Memory Disease

A 2017 study found that people who used a sauna frequently experienced a lower risk for memory disease than people who used one infrequently or not at all. In particular, males who utilized their saunas 4-7 times a week had lower dementia and Alzheimer’s disease risk than men who used their saunas 1-3 times a week.

8. Overall Improved Quality of Life

When you take all of those things into consideration: less inflammation, less pain, increased heart health, increased skin health, and reduction of disease symptoms, you are looking at a longer, healthier, happier, more productive life!
